Donors Advancing the Activities of NAG
By becoming a Founding Member of The DAAN Society, you will help us share the benefits of Satyananda Yoga to enhance the well being of both the individual and our society. Your three year commitment to donating as a Founding Member of The DAAN Society will help North American Gurukul to:
- conduct service projects in places such as schools, prisons, domestic violence shelters and nursing homes to demonstrate the benefit of Satyananda Yoga in these settings, replicating the amazing results that have been seen in India.
- support replication of medical studies, using scientific research standards, to demonstrate the benefits of Satyananda Yoga for many serious medical conditions such as hypertension, clinical depression and substance abuse.
- educate the medical community about the benefits of Satyananda Yoga for preventive health care and as a complement to other forms of medical treatment.
- educate the public about the benefits of yoga for promoting health and well being.
- train more teachers, allowing us to bring the benefits of Satyananda Yoga to more people in need.
As a Founding Member of The DAAN Society, you will receive many blessings and benefits, including:
- a 100% tax-deduction for your contribution
- an invitation to special gatherings of The DAAN Society
- complimentary invitations to special educational programs
But, the most significant benefit is the knowledge that you are helping to share the extensive knowledge of yoga with the North American public - in a way that can lead to a transformation of society.
Join us in this important endeavor by becoming a Founding Member of The DAAN Society.
The meaning of daan ["giving"] is to divide whatever we have, giving in charity for the pleasure of the Infinite Divine. Charity should be done for the upliftment of humanity and as an expression of love for the Divine Godhead. We should be sensitive to human sufferings and social injustice and promote the benefits of social service, global brotherhood and natural respect for all humanity, irrespective of caste, creed, race or religion. Whatever we have achieved or accumulated should be distributed for the benefit of others, and we should take up vows of service. — Goswai Indira Betiji
