Why Accreditation?

Accredited SY instructors have completed some of the most intensive yogic studies and teachers training programs in the world. This level of training allows SY instructors to achieve a level of scientific and experiential exposure that empowers them to better influence the growth and development of their students.

NAG is eager to bring the community of Satyananda Yoga® teachers and practitioners together to accelerate the development of Satyananda Yoga® in North America. NAG will facilitate communication and networking through a contact mailing list, a Satyananda Yoga® teacher and studio directory and a quarterly newsletter.

Signing up for the NAG mailing list is a first step in connecting to the Satyananda community in North America. NAG will utilize the mailing list to facilitate outreach and will regularly publish and distribute a newsletter.

Teachers and Studios in North America

NAG is in the formative stages of compiling a North American directory of studios and teachers who have been trained and/or offer classes in the Satyananda tradition to increase the accessibility of Satyananda instruction. Individuals and studios who have signed up for the mailing list may also be added to the service provider directory.

Satyananda Yoga® Accreditation and Logo Use

Satyananda Yoga® Accreditation and Trademark/Logo use is a way to demonstrate a connection to the standards of the Satyananda community. Teachers that choose to accredit join the efforts of hundreds of others worldwide who are devoted to the development of human potential and support yoga as a lifestyle. Further, accreditation is a way to supports the mission and teachings of the Satyananda lineage.

NAG encourages teachers with Satyananda Yoga® training to seek accreditation and trademark/logo use to underscore the quality and unity of the Satyananda tradition as these options become available.

 

What is Teacher Accreditation?

Satyananda Yoga Teacher Accreditation recognizes the unparalleled level of training and personal development that has become distinctive to instructors in the Satyananda tradition. Accreditation signifies the completion of Yogic Studies and Teacher Training, adherence to a comprehensive Code of Ethics and a commitment to uphold the standards of the Satyananda tradition through continuing education requirements.  Accreditation aims to maintain the quality standards for which the tradition has become known.

Trademark/Logo Use

The “Satyananda Yoga” logo is a registered trademark of the International Yoga Fellowship Movement (IYFM) that provides a unifying identity to Satyananda Yoga® teachers and studios. The trademarked names and the logos specifically associated with Satyananda Yoga are limited for use in very specific ways by accredited teachers and yoga centers/studios. The use is detailed in the accreditation agreement document.

Currently logo usage is not available to teachers and studios in North America without permission from the International Yoga Fellowship Movement (IYFM). NAG is currently working to make Satyananda Yoga logo usage possible in North America.

Limited trademark useage is available to acccredited Satyananda Yoga® teachers.

 

Newsletter

NAG aims to publish a quarterly E-newsletter to keep the Satyananda Yoga community in North America informed of notable happenings in the worldwide Satyananda Yoga community with an emphasis on North America. The NAG newsletter will highlight Satyananda Yoga conferences, workshops, seminars, lectures and training opportunities that may delve deeper into the tradition than a normal studio class allows. We encourage you to share a story of note, a new studio opening in the Satyananda Yoga tradition, a service project, or event.

Please forward your special programs/event announcements, and speaker profiles to NAG using our contact form. Submissions will be considered on a space available basis. NAG reserves the right to edit content prior to publishing in the newsletter.
