DISCOVER
"We can work together to build a better life and a better society by changing ourselves. The change has to come from within us, and we have to be ready for this change. This transformation of consciousness, energy and mind, is the spirit of Yoga." Swami Niranjan
Everyone's path to personal development is unique. NAG increases the accessibility to multiple options for exploring yoga in the Satyananda tradition including in-depth Yogic Studies and Teacher Training, conferences, workshops, lectures and independent tools for growth such as books and CDs.
Yogic Studies and Teacher Training
Satyananda Yoga® Yogic Studies and Teacher Training are the most comprehensive, in-depth, systematic programs available, covering up to 3000 hours of training over 3-5 years. Yogic Studies courses offer a progressive level of instruction in anatomy and physiology, yogic history and philosophy, yoga nidra and meditation, pranayama, shatkarmas, mudras and bandas, yoga physiology, yogic psychology, yogic lifestyle application, along with an intensive home study component. Two levels of Teacher Training are offered providing the tools necessary for teaching, including hands on practice, teaching techniques, lesson planning, applied anatomy and physiology, student support skills, health and safety, and first aid.
The North American licensed provider of Yogic Studies and Teacher Training in Satyananda Yoga® is the Atma Center, but will eventually transfer to the newly incorporated Yoga Academy of North America (YANA). A detailed description of the training programs, subjects and schedule of courses offered at the North American location can be obtained by clicking here. Equivalent training programs are conducted internationally at Satyananda Training Academies in Australia, India, Europe, and Columbia.
Bi-Annual Conference
NAG plans to launch a bi-annual Satyananda Yoga® conference in 2009 to bring the Satyananda Community together. The conference, open to all, will feature Acharyas, teachers, and plenty of opportunities to cultivate greater awareness and learning in the tradition through workshops and networking opportunities.
